ADJECTIVES
An adjective is word which is used to qualify a noun or a pronoun or its equivalent.
Proper Adjectives
Proper Nouns:- वैसे Nouns जिससे किसी खास व्यक्ति, वस्तु या स्थान के नाम का बोध हो Proper Nouns से बनने वाले Adjective को Proper Adjective कहा जाता है।
जैसे-
Proper Nouns Proper Adjective
America American
India Indian
Note:- Proper Adjective का पहला letter हमेशा capital होता है।
Possessive Adjectives
Possessive Adjective:- वैसे Adjectives जिससे किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु का संबंध बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
Such as- My, our, his, your, her, their, its को Possessive Adjective कहा जाता है।
Distributive Adjectives
Distributive Adjectives:- वैसे Adjectives जिसका प्रयोग बहुतो में से किसी प्रत्येक एक को बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
Such as- Each, every, either, neither को Distributive Adjectives कहा जाता है।
Such as- Each, every, either, neither को Distributive Adjectives कहा जाता है।
(A) Each का प्रयोग दो या दो से अधिक के लिए किया जाता है। और इसके साथ Verb का प्रयोग Singular Number में किया जाता है।
जैसे- Each of the students was punished.
She had a child holding on to each hand.
She had a child holding on to each hand.
(B) Every का प्रयोग हमेशा दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे- He gave every boy the same pen.
(C) Either प्रयोग "दो में से कोई एक" को बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे- There are two girls in the room, neither girl is beautiful.
You can buy either car.
(D) Neither का "दो में से कोई नही" को बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे-Neither sister is beautiful.
(E) Either तथा Neither के बाद Noun हमेशा Singular Number में प्रयोग किया जाता है।
You can buy either car.
(D) Neither का "दो में से कोई नही" को बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे-Neither sister is beautiful.
(E) Either तथा Neither के बाद Noun हमेशा Singular Number में प्रयोग किया जाता है।
(F) Each, every, either, neither के बाद प्रयुक्त Noun के पहले Article का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है।
Demonstrative Adjectives
Demonstrative Adjectives दो प्रकार के होते है।
Definite : This, That, These, Those, Such, Same. ये Adjectives किसी निश्चित वस्तु या व्यक्ति को प्रदर्शित करते है।
Indefinite : This, That, These, Those, Such, Same, any, any other, other ये Adjectives किसी खास अर्थ में व्यक्ति या वस्तु के प्रदर्शन का काम करते है किंतु निश्चितता के अर्थ में नहीं।
ध्यान रखें-
A, an, a certain, another, this that का प्रयोग हमेशा singular countable noun के साथ किया जाता है।
जैसे- This horse, A certain girl, this book.
(A) Such, The Same, tho other, any का प्रयोग singular countable noun तथा plural countable noun दोनों के पहले किया जाता है।
जैसे- Such a girl, Such girls, The same book, The same books
(B) These, those, certain का प्रयोग हमेशा plural countable noun के साथ किया जाता है।
जैसे- these elephants, those boys, certain books.
Numeral Adjectives
Numeral Adjectives दो प्रकार के होते है-
(i) Definite Numeral Adjective:
ऐसे Adjectives,जो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं की निश्चित संख्या (number) या क्रम (order) का बोध कराते है Definite Numeral Adjectives कहलाते हैं।
ऐसे Adjectives,जो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं की निश्चित संख्या (number) या क्रम (order) का बोध कराते है Definite Numeral Adjectives कहलाते हैं।
(A) निश्चित संख्या (number) का बोध कराने वाले Adjectives को Cardinals कहते है।
जैसे- One, Two, Three, Four etc.
(B) निश्चित क्रम (order)का बोध कराने वाले Adjectives को Ordinals कहते है।
जैसे- First, Third, next, last etc.
(C) यदि किसी वाक्य में Cardinals तथा Ordinals का प्रयोग करना हो तो पहले Ordinals का तथा बाद में Cardinals का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Ordinals+Cardinals+Plural Noun
जैसे- The first three questions of this exercise.
(ii) Indefinite Numeral Adjective:
ऐसे Adjectives,जो अनिश्चित संख्या का बोध कराते है Indefinite Numeral Adjectives कहलाते है।
ऐसे Adjectives,जो अनिश्चित संख्या का बोध कराते है Indefinite Numeral Adjectives कहलाते है।
Such as:- many, some, enough, few, various, several, all, most, numerous,Indefinite Numeral Adjectives आदि है।
जैसे- Many persons were killed in the road accident.
Some books are missing.
जैसे- Many persons were killed in the road accident.
Some books are missing.
Note:- Numeral Adjectives के बाद साधारणतः Plural Noun का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Quantitative Adjectives
ऐसे Adjectives, जो मात्रा का बोध कराते है Quantitative Adjectives कहलाते है।
Quantitative Adjectives
ऐसे Adjectives, जो मात्रा का बोध कराते है Quantitative Adjectives कहलाते है।
जैसे- much, little, whole, some, enough,all, most आदि Quantitative Adjectives है।
Note:- Much, little, whole का प्रयोग हमेशा मात्रा के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे- much milk, little sugar, whole book आदि।
(A) some, enough, all, most, sufficient का प्रयोग मात्रा तथा संख्या दोनों के लिए किया जाता है।
Qualitative Adjectives
ऐसे Adjectives, जो व्यक्तिओं के आकार, स्थिति आदि गुणों का बोध कराते है Qualitative Adjectives कहलाते है।
जैसे- big, small, good, bad, ugly, beautiful आदि।
Interrogative Adjectives
जिन Adjectives का प्रयोग प्रश्न पूछने के लिए किया जाता है उन्हें Interrogative Adjectives कहते है।
Such as- Which, What, Whose
जैसे- Which girl do you like most?
जैसे- Which girl do you like most?
Exclamatory Adjectives
आश्चर्य का भाव प्रकट करने के लिए प्रयुक्त Adjective को Exclamatory Adjective कहते है इस रूप में सिर्फ “what” का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
जैसे- What a beautiful girl!
What an idea!
