  1. Assassination – guerrilla / dropper / executioner (हत्‍यारा)
I want to tell the truth that the man is not my friend, but his assassin.
  1.   Remit – send / transfer / consign – (भेजना / छूटकारा पाना)
The money has been remitted by money order.
  1. Regime – administration / reign / government – (शासन/हुकूमत)
Partap had implied that he was the power behind the whole regime.
  1.   Affiliation– alliance / connection – (संपर्क / ताल्‍लुक) 
They were in college, and they still keep up their affiliations.
  1. Embarrassed – ashamed / flustered – (शर्मिंदा/लज्जित)
They Jory, embarrassed and stammering, in his turn flew into a rage.
  1. Sarcasm– Contempt / Mockery – (व्‍यंग्‍य)
The girl’s lips curled with the faintest suggestion of sarcasm.
  1. Banter – Chitchat / ribbing / small talk / – (मजाक / हंसी उड़ाना)
In all this banter the cowmen joined with their well flavored wit.
  1. Unilateral – one sided / independent (एकतरफा)
Like many other lingual affections, this is often unilateral.
  1. Alleged – supposedly / assertedly  (कथित)
It had been alleged that there was no precedent for relieving these people.
  1. Smeared – Smudge / rub on / spread over – (लगाना)
When the sugar is dry on one side and on the edge, smear the other side.
  1. Disaster Accident / calamity / holocaust(आपदा) 
We have been informed that the disaster had been most severe.
  1. Jolt – Surprise / sudden push – (झोका / झटका)
His horse lagged behind the adjunt’s and Jolted him at every step.
  1. Cripple – disable / hamstring (अपाहिज)
He’s too good a friend of mine to call me ‘lefty’ and remind me that I’m a cripple.
  1.   Steep – lofty / arduous / sharp (अत्‍यधिक)
The chauffeur threw the little cab up the steep turn with a rush.
  1. Abducted – snatch / kidnap (अपहरण)
‘At the very least, that fellow has tried to abduct this young lady.’ Added Raj.
