USES OF ARTICLE THE
1. जब किसी चीज में क्रमिक विकास या कमी होता है तो Comparative Degree के पहले Article "The" का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इस स्थिति में साधरणतः दो Sentences होते है और दोनो Sentences को इस प्रकार से लिखा जाता है।
The+Comparative Degree+First Sentence+The+Comparative Degree+Second Sentence
Ex. The higher you go, the cooler you find.
The more you get the more you want.
The greater the risk, the higher the profit.
2. Article "The" का प्रयोग Unique वस्तुओ या अन्य चीजो के नाम के पहले किया जाता है।
Ex. The Earth, The Sun, The stars, The Universe, The moon. Etc.
3. Article "The" का प्रयोग Ordinal Adjective(first, second, third etc.) के पहले किया जाता है।
Ex. The next bus, the first president of India, the second page, the last page, the third floor. Etc.
Note:- (a). जब "Next/Last" का प्रयोग Sunday, Monday, January, February, Week, Month, Year, Etc. जैसे समय बतलाने वाले शब्दों के पहले किया गया हो तो Next/Last के पहले Article The का प्रयोग नही किया जाता है।
Ex. Sonu came here the last week. (✘)
Sonu came here last week. (✔)
I met Suman the last Tuesday. (✘)
I met Suman last Tuesday. (✔)
(b) लेकिन यदि Ordinal Adjective(first, second, third etc.) के बाद यदि किसी Noun का प्रयोग न हो और पहलेPreposition "At" का प्रयोग हो Ordinal Adjective(first, second, third etc.) हो तो इस स्थिति में Article "The" का प्रयोग नही होता है।
Ex. He came at the first. (✘)
He came at first. (✔)
She always stands at the last. (✘)
She always stands at last. (✔)
4. Most of, some of, both of, half of, none of, all of, either of, neither of, के बाद आने वाले Noun के पहलेArticle "The" प्रयोग होता है।
Ex. All of players have come here today. (✘)
All of the players have come here today. (✔)
Most of money was spent yesterday. (✘)
Most of the money was spent yesterday. (✔)
Either of boys is able to do this sum. (✘)
Either of the boys is able to do this sum. (✔)
5. किसी Proper Noun के बाद जब कोई Adjective का प्रयोग उसी Noun की विशेषता(Qualify) बतलाने के लिए किया गया हो तो उस Adjective के पहले Article "The" का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Ex. Ashoka, great. (✘)
Ashoka, the great. (✔)
Napolean, warrior. (✘)
Napolean, the warrior. (✔)
6. जब किसी Adjective का प्रयोग व्यक्तियों के वर्ग या जाति बतलाने के लिए किया जाता हो तो उस Adjective के पहले Article "The" का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
THE+ADJECTIVE = PEOPLE
Ex. The poor are honest. गरीब लोग ईमानदार होते है। (The poor = गरीब लोग)
The rich are dishonest. आमिर लोग बेईमान होते है। (The rich = आमिर लोग)
The old are often helpless. बूढ़े लोग असहाय होते है। (The old = बूढ़े लोग)
7. Article "The" का प्रयोग "Same" के पहले "वही" के अर्थ में Comparison बतलाने के लिए किया जाता है।
Ex. These are the same pens as we saw in that shop. ये सब वही पेन है जिसे हमलोग ने उस दूकान में देखा था।
Your book is the same as mine.
8. Article "The" का प्रयोग निम्नलिखित Idiomatic के साथ किया जाता है।
Such as:- all the way, by the way, speak the truth, the whole, on the whole, in the nick of time(येन मौके पे/ या सही समय पे ), all the time, in the right, for the time being, turn to the left, turn to the right, go to the stage/bus stop/airport/cinema/theatre/library/museum. etc.
Ex. What is the matter. (✔)
