SPECIAL RULES OF PASSIVE VOICE

Passive of Infinitive

1. अगर Active Voice में Main Verb के पहले "To" अर्थात "TO+v1" लगा हो तो इसके Passive Voice में  

a. Active voice के Object को Passive Voice में Subject के स्थान पे रख देते है। 

b. Subject के अनुसार Helping Verb का प्रयोग करते है। 

c. "TO+v1" को "To be +v3" में Change कर देते है। 

 d. इसके बाद By+Agent का प्रयोग करते है। 

(a) Active voice- Sub+am/is/are+to+v1+obj+O.W.

Passive Voice- Obj+am/is/are+to+be+v3+O.W+by+Agent

Ex. A.V. I am to teach competitive English this week.

P.V.- Competitive English is to be taught this week by me.

(b) Active voice- Sub+was/were+to+v1+obj+O.W.

Passive Voice- Obj+was/were+to+be+v3+O.W+by+Agent

Ex. A.V. They were to play cricket match.

P.V.- Cricket match was to be played by them.

(c)Active voice- Sub+has/have+to+v1+obj+O.W.

Passive Voice- Obj+has/have+to+be+v3+O.W+by+Agent

Ex. A.V.- Ram has to sing a song on the eve of 15th August.
P.V.- A song has to be sung on the eve of of 15th August by Ram.

(d) Active voice- Sub+had+to+v1+obj+O.W.

Passive Voice- Obj+had+to+be+v3+O.W+by+agent.

Ex. A.V. We had to do that work.

P.V. That work had to be done by us.

(e) Active voice- Sub+shall/will+have+to+v1+obj+O.W.

Passive Voice- Obj+shall/will+have+to+be+v3+O.W+by+Agent

Ex. A.V.-She will have to do this work.

P.V.- This work will have to be done by her.

(f) Active voice- Sub+want/wants/wanted+obj (Person)+to+V1+obj (work/person)

Passive voice- Sub+want/wants/wanted+obj (work/person)+to+be+v3+by+obj (Person)

Ex. A.V. I want you to teach my son.

P.V. I want my son to be taught by you.

A.V. She wants them to play cricket.

P.V. She wants cricket to be played by them.
