ARTICLE

A, AN तथा THE को Article कहा जाता है।

1. A तथा An को Indefinite Article कहा जाता है क्योंकि ये अनिश्चित व्यक्ति या वस्तु के पहले प्रयुक्त किया जाता है। इनका प्रयोग Indefinite Singular Countable Noun के पहले किया जाता है। 

Ex. The police have caught a thief.

She is a girl.

They have a pen.

2. The को Definite Article कहा जाता है क्योंकि इसका प्रयोग किसी खास या निश्चित व्यक्ति या वस्तु के पहले किया जाता है। इसका प्रयोग Singular countable noun, Plural countable noun, Uncountable noun के पहले किया जाता है। 

Ex. I have seen a dog, the dog was dangerous. 

The water of the Ganga is pure.

Note:- खास या निश्चित का अर्थ उस कथन से होता है कि उस Noun के बारे में या तो पूरी जानकारी प्राप्त हो या उस Noun के बारे में पहले ही चर्चा हो चुकी है।

DIFFERENT POSITION OF ARTICLE

1. Article+Noun

Ex. I have a pen.

She has an ink pot.

The boy is playing cricket.

2. Article+Adjective+Noun.

Ex. He is an honest boy.

Ram is the best boy in the class 

3. Article+Adverb+Adjective+Noun.

Ex. Naina is a very beautiful girl.

She is a fairly tall girl.

4. So/Too/As/How+Adjective+Article+SCN.

Ex. So good an idea.

Too weak a boy.

As dull a student.

How beautiful a lady.

5. Such/What+A/An+SCN

Ex. Such an idea!

Such a man!

What an idea!

6. Such/What+A/An+Adjective+SCN

Ex. Such a good idea!

What a good girl!

Such a tall girl!

7. Many+A/An+SCN

Ex. Many a boy.

Many an actress.

8. Many+A/An+Adjective+SCN

Ex. Many an interesting novel.

Many an ideal actress.

9. Both/All+The+Noun

Ex. All the students.

Both the doctors.

10. Both/All+The+Adjective+Noun

Ex. All the laborious students.

Both the best friends.

11. Rather+A/An+SCN

Ex. It is rather a horror.

She is rather a bad girl

12. A+Rather+Adjective+SCN

Ex. It is a rather complicated problem.

13. Rather+A/An+Adjective+SCN

Ex. It is rather a complicated problem.

14. Quite+A/An+Noun

Ex. It is quite a long distance.

It is quite a dark night.

  

Note:- Abbreviations used in the above structure.

Noun- (Singular noun or Plural Noun)

SCN- (Singular countable Noun)
